In every game of poker there has to be one of each, even in a game of online poker. Which are you? After all in each game you bet with a chance of losing or winning depending on the cards you hold. Because in a game of online poker you don’t have the faces of your opponents to tell you what type of player they are. You have to go by how they play their hands. Every new player is an enigma, one you have to learn about as you play.
Therein lays the issue. In a regular game of poker, you can learn the other player’s body language. In a game of online poker, you have to read how they played their last couple of hands and hope they don’t change. Or even change who is playing.
All are risks but the challenge is irresistible. Can you bluff them? Are your cards the best based on the odds? Will you win or lose with what you have? All you can do is play your hand and find out. With any luck, the cards will be in your favor.
In every game, you start out as a bettor if you think you have a chance, and sometimes, even if you don’t. Maybe you just want to wait to see what the cards give you. Depending on the type of poker you are playing you may have to rely on what you were given or on what comes down the river. How you play is up to you the player.
Now just as in any game there has to be a winner and a loser. Because it is a game it shouldn’t be too upsetting to lose. You are in it just for the fun right? If not you might want to rethink how you play. You don’t want to be a sore loser, or a sore winner. Obviously, you want to be a winner.
The winner will play to the best of their ability and continue playing. Usually there is a combination of luck and skill to varying degrees involved. A winner can quickly become a loser if they are not careful. Mostly, it is a matter of playing the cards you have.
The loser will be the one with the worst luck that hand or just the new player learning how to play. Regardless the loser should not get upset but should learn from their mistakes. Learning from the other players and seeing how and why they played differently. Eventually becoming better and turning into a winner.
So as you can see in any game of poker everybody is a bettor, a winner and a loser. They are just not all at the same time. A player will proceed through each step depending on how they play and the luck or skill they use during playing online poker. Since you have to rely on the cards, there is no way one person can win or lose all the time.
I think I would be the bettor. Happy to report that I am not the loser but I’d love it if I was the winner!! I’ll get there, learning more and more.
