In august this year in Melbourne, Australia, 42 illegal machines were located by police. One man was charged on summons with illegal posession of gaming machines which carries a maximum sentence of 6 years. Some of the machines found were for sale where as others were in the process of being converted for use on the black market.

Ok so these people are in big trouble for providing outlets for illegal gambling revenue and for having them in storage beside businesses etc but what If someone wants to purchase purely to use themselves at home, like a modified one that money can’t be used in? This is something I would like to do so I was curious.

police remove eight poker machines Thursday from a local restaurant owner. Knowingly possessing a gambling device regardless of its ownership is a misdemeanor offense in Tennessee and is punishable by up to six months in jail and a $2,500 fine, records show. Darlene Fairchild, 54, was cited for illegal ownership on Thursday afternoon after police found the machines in a storage facility next to her business, Market Restaurant, on East 11th Street.

I’ve often thought, if I got really hungry for a good milk shake, how much would I pay for one? People will pay a hundred dollars for a bottle of wine; to me that’s not worth it. But I’m not going to say it is foolish or wrong to spend that kind of money, if that’s what you want. So if a guy wants to bet twenty or thirty thousand dollars in a poker game, that is his privilege. ~Jack Binion

In a cafe at Haberfield in Sydney’s inner-west., Nine illegal gaming machines have been found.A food inspector found the machines in the cafe and reported it to authorities.New South Wales Gaming Minister Kevin Greene says the machines have been seized.There were five poker machines and four card machines found in an air-conditioned room that was boldly set up as same as gaming room .The machines were arranged in a row with a stool in front of each one and sports member of the public was sprinkled on the walls.
