Take a break – look on the bright side.
Whether playing poker online or in a casino many people find poker to be a serious and very intense game. For most serious players though, poker is their second love (sometimes first) There can be a brighter and more humorous side to this game as well.
I have been playing in an online tournament and found it very tense, until at break someone goes on the chat board and tells a poker joke, definitely lightening up the mood! They say laughter is universal, and is good for the soul so sit back and enjoy a few jokes and some poker humor!!
One evening a Doctor receives a call from an associate. This associate wanted to know if the Doctor was interested in becoming the last needed player for a poker game. Immediately this Doctor indicates he will be there asap. As he is rushing out the door, his wife states that it must be really serious. The Doctor assures her that yes it is there are three doctors there already.
A man is walking down the street when a disheveled homeless person approaches him and asks for $2. The man asks, “Are you going to buy booze with the money?” The indignant man replies “Definitely not sir! I don’t drink!” Then the man asks, “Are you going to use this money to gamble” again the man retorts “Definitely not sir! I don’t gamble” The man ponders for a moment and says, “Yes I will give you the money but you must meet my wife first! I want her to get a first hand look at what happens to a bloke when he doesn’t drink or gamble!”
One evening a young fellow pops into a poker parlor to find 3 men and a large mutt having a game of poker. This unusual canine was really handling the game well. The young man made the comment, that the dog was playing very well and that it was sure one smart dog. One of the players looks up and says, “Not too smart, though, stick around and when you see his tail wag you’ll know he’s got a great hand!
The regular weekly poker night was going as usual. Just after midnight one of the regulars got up for a washroom break. He soon came running back and yelled “George your wife is making love to brother in your bedroom!” “Okay guys, that’s it!” After this hand I am done.
Some people seem to be very lucky at some games and yet seem to lose big at others. I noticed this trend with a friend of mine one day. He seemed to always win at our regular poker games yet when we went to the horse races he always lost big time! When I brought this to his attention , he grinned and said well, there is no card shuffling at the track.
These are just a few jokes that any poker player will enjoy! I hope you did! As stated earlier, though playing the game of poker online or in person can be a serious endeavor. You will soon find that out when you read this article the four usual mistakes with poker buttons but just try telling a joke occasionally and you will be surprised how it can lighten the mood!
I think that there are unfortunately plenty of people who really do need to read this and take the advice that it provides because there have been many times that i have been playing online and having a great time until some irritated and highly strung player who isn’t having their best game goes and starts carrying on like a right royal moron in the game with profanity and abuse being hurled left right and centre, they really do take the joy out of it and can ruin what would otherwise be a fun and great experience.
I can’t stand it when I am having a real fun or intense game of online poker only to have the whole thing wrecked by some idiot who is losing because they don’t even really know what they are doing in the first place. I know that everyone has to start somewhere and that not everyone is a pro but for people who are new to the game and are still learning then they shouldn’t be joining the high stakes game like the ones which i go into, the complain that they are losing and of course because they aren’t winning they claim that it is all rigged, it is just frustrating and they carry on being very rude without even bothering to consider those people who are unfortunate enough to have to put up with it all. Take a chill pill and enjoy the game, if you can’t handle pressure or tension or losing then poker isn’t the game for you, plain and simple.
I don’t like people who are bad at losing, ultimately in my opinion if they can’t handle losing then they really should not be gambling in the first place, it’s not a guaranteed win nor a guaranteed loss, that’s the whole idea of it being called a gamble in the first place. The best way to spot someone who has spent their cash gambling in ways which are higher than their actual skill level is to find the ones who claim that the reputable online gambling sites are rigged, that’s usually a dead giveaway, i pity them, i really do.
I agree with that, there are too many bad players who can’t handle losing that ruin the game for the rest of us who actually know what we are doing and can accept defeat and that we have lost because of a person being better than us at the game even if only for just that one hand. These people need to go find some other game to play, preferably alone, maybe some computer combat simulators or something like that where they can vent their frustrations on some cartoon animated characters on a screen, i’m sure that will boost their egos and make them feel much much better about themselves.
