The limit in betting refers to the amount that a player raises in the game. In pot limit game the player’s cannot raise more than the total size of the pot. The pot limit includes:

1. Trail – refers to the earlier action in the existing betting round.

2. Starting pot – the total chips collected form the previous betting rounds.

3. A Call – The call is made by the player who makes the raise.

Here comes the potting

Whenever a player makes a maximum raise, then it is referred as “potting” or “raising the pot”. The acting player of the game announces the potting by declaring “pot” or “Raising pot”.
