In order to play online poker properly it is a must to know the terms used for players. This is a list of the terms starting with S.

S

Scare card: A card appearing on the turn or the river that may crack the previously best hand, making it as a good moment to bluff. An ace on the river is a good example of scare card, or the third card of the same suit.

Terms You Must Know to Play Poker Q to R

When it comes to online poker, some special terms are used by players and you should know them in order to play properly. This is a list of the terms from Q to R.

Q

Quads: Same as four of a kind. A hand composed by four cads of the same rank.
Quart: A straight flush of four cads instead of five.
Quarter: Getting ¼ of the pot. This may happen because you tied with another 3 players or in some variations of poker where the pot is split up among different players for different reasons like having the highest or the lowest hand etc…

Terms You Must Know to Play Poker P

To play online poker you need to know the terms used frequently for players at the tables. This is a list of the terms starting with P.

P

Pay off: Calling a bet where the player betting is representing to have a hand that you can not beat, but the pot is large enough for you to call or calling just for the size of the pot. It is not recommendable to pay off unless the bet is very small and the pot very high.
Play the board: Using all the cards on the board and none into your pocket to make your hand. Obviously anybody can play the board and you can only tie or lose by doing so.

Terms You Must Know to Play Poker M to O

To make the best at online poker tables you need to understand the jargon used by players. The following is a list of the terms from M to O.

M

Maniac: A type of player who plays very loose and very aggressively. Maniac players are profitable players for players playing solidly.
Middle Pair: To hit a pair with the second highest card on the flop. This situation only is called like that if you are hitting it with a card into your pocket, not if you already have a pair into your pocket which is the second highest.
Minnie: In some poker variations a Minnie is the lowest hand possible. Some games pay for the lowest hand as well as for the highest.
