The Knockout format is the most common format of playing the poker tournament. Knockout is also called as ‘freezeout’. The players who have been participated in the tournament have to constitute a dynamic pool. A players table shrinks when he or she gets eliminated by losing all the chips. The players are moved between the tables to avoid the tables play different number of players. Finally, all the remaining players will be seated on a single table called as final table.

Another format of playing the tournament is the shootout tournament. This tournament divides the plays in rounds. In a shootout tournament each table is filled with two to ten players and the roster of the table remains the same
