The Basic Rummy is also known by another name called the ‘Sai Rummy’. This rummy shares the common features from the basic game. A deck of 52 cards is used for playing basic rummy. The ranking of the cards in basic rummy is from 2 (the low) to A (the high). It can be played either for a number of deals or played up to a certain score.

Shuffling for the play and the deal

Each player involved in the play draws a card. The player who has drawn the lowest card should deal first, and the deal should proceed in clockwise. When there are two players in the game, each player receives ten cards.
